calc.blue is run by DotBlue LLC, a UniCo Group company. This page lists what this website collects and why.
Analytics tools
- umami: page views, without cookies. Self-hosted, loaded from calc.blue.
- PostHog: which pages and features people use, including page views and page leaves. Self-hosted, loaded through calc.blue. It stores a random visitor ID in a first-party cookie and in your browser's local storage.
- Google Analytics (GA4): aggregate traffic and engagement reports. It sets Google Analytics cookies (
_gaand_ga_*) and sends data to Google.
Between them they see the pages you view, the referring site, your approximate location (country or region), your device and browser type, and events such as submitting the waitlist form. None of them receives your email address or name: the waitlist event records only that someone joined, not who.
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist, calc.blue stores what you type in the form (email, and if you fill them in: name, company, role, team size, state and notes) together with the page and campaign tags of the visit that brought you. It is kept in calc.blue's own database. A copy of each signup is emailed to the team through our email provider, Resend. We use it only to contact you about calc.blue.
The free calculators
The calculators run in your browser. The design-temperature lookup sends the place you search for to calc.blue's own server, or, if you press if you use “near me” and your browser allows itldquo;Use my locationif you use “near me” and your browser allows itrdquo; and your browser allows it, your location rounded to three decimal places (about 100 m). Nothing you enter in the calculators is sent to an analytics tool.
Server logs
Like most websites, calc.blue's web server logs each request, including your IP address, the page asked for and your browser's user agent. The logs are used to run and secure the site.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising. The iPad app and the calculation API are not tracked by any of the analytics tools above.
